Many of you may already know that we are looking to move out of our townhome /duplex into a single family home. The search for the perfect ( or realistically -almost perfect) 4+ bed 3+ bath with huge garden and backyard space – all with uuber modern finishes continues…As a city girl who grew up in a modern high-rise with breath taking views of the city (Dubai), I am quite looking forward to this new experience.
But looking at interiors like these, does make me wish I could have one of these too!! Forma Design Company is based in Washington, DC. Young vibrant and oh so modern. Their portfolio showcases interiors, architecture and graphic design. Amidst DC’s historic architecture and interiors, their residential projects are a breath of fresh air. The headboard in the second image is so me!!

I came across Kim Alexandriuk’s interior design portfolio recently. I love the depth of color that she plays with in her work. I also like the attention to details and the use of plants. Notice the global treasures that she tastefully incorporates in her projects? Her portfolio is quite diverse, take a look at more of her work on her website.

Morphogenesis: the process of development of form, structure and organization in nature.
New Delhi and Pune, India based architecture firm Morphogenesis is trying to expand the boundaries of design and building. I recently came across some of their work and was really impressed with the clean, modern sustainable design.

Handmade napkin rings make wonderful hostess gifts. The fact that someone took the time to make these and you gifting them conveys – you appreciate the hostess’s efforts.

Fit for a 21st century princess. And her prince, maybe? I would have to be dragged out of this one. I see it on my penthouse rooftop spa. The one I hope to have sometime.

Liven organizing with this bright Cubit from DWR.

Add splashes of color to your bookshelf. I’m into organizing books by color. So when I saw this I thought of my next DIY project.
My book collection is still spread over three countries, so getting them to look this colorful was difficult. Determined to get the look, I got some recycled and handmade paper from the ABC Home in New York. I also found some left over fabric (tip: mom’s old saris) at home from previous DIY projects and Voila! I love the results. Now not only are they color coded, but also the texture is so appealing.
Kate’s Paperie is also a good source for handmade and decorative paper. Go pastel, go bright, go play with color.
