Another swoon worthy house tour. This time in Texas. Interior designer Chandos Dodson converted a tri-level house in Dallas to a hip, modern party house. The owner wanted the space to accommodate upto 30 people for cocktails or a business meeting. The property had so much going for it and Dodson did such a fantastic job of creating a sophisticated, bright and open entertaining haven. How chic is the floor lamp in the first pic!

Listed by Vogue magazine among the ten most beautiful women, Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur died today at age 90. Her Royal Highness was style icon and such an inspiration to us. :-(

Here’s a look at Marika Sakellariou’s Eichler home in California. Marika bought this home in 2006 and enlisted architects Marek Slosar and Lucian Rosciszewski. She wanted to modernize the 1960s era Eichler home and maximize the indoor/outdoor feel of the structure.

Eichler homes are from a branch of Modernist architecture that has come to be known as “California Modern,” and typically feature glass walls, post-and-beam construction and open floorplans in a style indebted to Mies van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright. – wikipedia

I love the open feel to the entire home. Who needs a vacation when you have a retreat like this for a home?

One big project in our home’s future is a two-level sunroom. One level will be our formal dining room and the other an office and library. I have no idea when this project will become a reality but I am always looking for inspiration for it.

I love the architectural details and natural palette of both these rooms.
