Birthday Dinner Party Inspiration

My birthday is a month away which means party planning starts now. This year I want to host an intimate dinner party in an outdoor setting. A cozy gathering under a canopy of twinkling lights in fresh air enjoying the bounty of Autumn. While this first pic just about sums it up {puppy including} the other pictures present fun ideas for outdoor gatherings.

Like hanging a door from a tree to make a floating table. Brilliant!!

And like this one where the dinner setting is on a farm trailer.

And just in case it rains, an alternate plan. My mind is buzzing with ideas!!

have a great weekend! xo

Book Review | Monica Pedersen : Make it Beautiful + Giveaway

Happy new week! I want to start this week with a book review. HGTV host and designer Monica Pedersen’s Make it Beautiful, designs and ideas for entertaining at home. I met Monica last year at the LV Market and we got to chatting about her book. A year later, I am delighted to get my hands on her book.

In her familiar sparkly-style Monica Pedersen Make it Beautiful is a helpful resource and step-by-step guide to hosting beautiful and cost-friendly get togethers.

Page after page of inviting parties, staging tips, sources and recipes narrated in her signature-style.

I especially love how she personalizes each party with details, custom fabrics (dont miss the Scalamandre Zebra prints in the Black-white baby shower) and modern sensibilities catering to every taste. The luscious, full-color coffee table book is the latest go-to guide for elegant and approachable entertaining making the perfect holiday, birthday or hostess gift.

As a special treat, {well in-time for the upcoming holiday season} one reader will win an autographed copy of Monica Pedersen Make It Beautiful.

Wrapping-up a few projects this weekend, but hoping to play catch up on blogging, laundry and organizing my apartment, which seems to forever look like a tabletop warehouse. This has been such a busy week leaving me with no time for myself. Love what I do, so I dont mind.

I have a couple more items to cross off my to-do list before happy hour-ing but am going to pop open a mini bottle of bubbly to keep me company. Tempted to try a recipe from this fun guide to champagne cocktails infograph.

What do you have planned for the weekend?
