Hello first-day-back-to-school Monday.
I hope you had a great weekend, were able to relax and enjoy sunshine wherever you are. We had a gorgeous sunny weekend here in DC so we decided on a spontaneous crab lunch trip to Annapolis. Maryland boasts some of the most delicious crabs. Thanks Ally and Jane for tips on how to get rid of crab smelling hands. Lemons did the trick.
Other highlights from our weekend included:
- A tweet up organized by beautiful Maryam from Marrakesh. It was awesome to finally meet Maryam. She is even lovelier in person. The tweet up, was at charming Vinoteca (highly recommend the tamari “reserve”from mendoza, argentina) and was a cheerful gathering of wonderful peeps. A shout out to Christie, Andrea, Brandie, Nole, Kaydee and Bill. It was a pleasure to connect with you all.

- And shopping for goodies from the Takoma Park farmers market. I really look forward to farmer’s market on weekends to score fresh treats. This weekend I put together a small spread of kalamata olive bread, strawberry-peach jam and chevre goat cheese, and bellinis. Perfect outdoor picnic.

- I also found these cute lavender sachets at the market for my lingerie drawer. These little sachets are easy to make using left-over fabric and filled with lavender (or other potpourri) would make great hostess gifts.

Oh and I realized I hadnt shared my new lamp (Cyan via GiltGroupe) with you. Isnt she pretty? Initially, I wanted her in our masterbed room, but I think she feels more at home in the dining room, dont you?
Have a happy week ahead.
ps: giveaway winner – coming up next.
iamges: all manvi drona-hidalgo, except #4 which is via apartment 34.
Really love the grey + deep fall colors + sparkle in the new jcrew catalog. Wouldnt these make great palettes for rooms?

My dear friends…Two good things:
One, its finally Friday!! and two, I have a new giveaway for you.

A set of pjs (of your choice) from the new collection at PajamaSutra. Inspired by the intricate patterns and colors of Indian textiles, the collection showcases bold, vivid prints in lightweight cotton voile.
This debut collection from designer Sarena Udani offers a wide variety of prints ranging from a delicate henna design to a bold, sixties-inspired geometric pattern. Each print is paired with a contrasting trim fabric in unexpected colors, and features PajamaSutra’s signature “comfort flat piping” – all the look of elegant piping without the thick cord sewn in.
Pajama party anyone?
To enter, leave a comment on this post with your choice. Giveaway open to US and Canada residents only. I will accept entries until end of day August 27th.
Have a great weekend. Dont forget you have until the end of day today to enter last week’s giveaway, summer essential kit by dr. perricone.
Its a long weekend for me, and most of us here in the US. What are you planning to do?

Happy 4th of July lovies. xo

Vacations are great, but it also means a lot of backlog of unanswered emails and blog posts. And so much added to already bulging to-do lists.
I am all over the place today. Running around tying up odds and ends. I start a new job tomorrow, which, by the way, I am really excited about. Long flowy dresses during the day, like this one from Zara (I wore this one a couple of times in Hawaii) replaced by more work-appropriate outfits.

So what if it makes my day crazy busy? I am actually looking forward to the challenges of a new job. Wish me luck!!
And dont think for a second that, you can forget about mochatini…..
and dont you, forget about me.. I will, as always, be here sharing my inspirations, reading yours and connecting with you.

Those still waiting on a reply from me, please please dont take it personal. And if you dont hear back this week, please send me a follow up. I love you all for understanding.
PS: how gorgeous are the new catalogs of Anthropologie (inspired by india) and Serene & Lily?
PPS: the awesome photographer from the Express shoot sent me the remaining pics which I promise to share with you very SOON.
xoxo
