Hello first-day-back-to-school Monday.
I hope you had a great weekend, were able to relax and enjoy sunshine wherever you are. We had a gorgeous sunny weekend here in DC so we decided on a spontaneous crab lunch trip to Annapolis. Maryland boasts some of the most delicious crabs. Thanks Ally and Jane for tips on how to get rid of crab smelling hands. Lemons did the trick.
Other highlights from our weekend included:
- A tweet up organized by beautiful Maryam from Marrakesh. It was awesome to finally meet Maryam. She is even lovelier in person. The tweet up, was at charming Vinoteca (highly recommend the tamari “reserve”from mendoza, argentina) and was a cheerful gathering of wonderful peeps. A shout out to Christie, Andrea, Brandie, Nole, Kaydee and Bill. It was a pleasure to connect with you all.
- And shopping for goodies from the Takoma Park farmers market. I really look forward to farmer’s market on weekends to score fresh treats. This weekend I put together a small spread of kalamata olive bread, strawberry-peach jam and chevre goat cheese, and bellinis. Perfect outdoor picnic.
- I also found these cute lavender sachets at the market for my lingerie drawer. These little sachets are easy to make using left-over fabric and filled with lavender (or other potpourri) would make great hostess gifts.
Oh and I realized I hadnt shared my new lamp (Cyan via GiltGroupe) with you. Isnt she pretty? Initially, I wanted her in our masterbed room, but I think she feels more at home in the dining room, dont you?

After yet another crazy busy week, I am SO ready to unwind this weekend. With Fall just around the corner, take time to enjoy the last few balmy nights of Summer. What do you have planned?

Hello friends. How was your weekend? Were you able to pursue any creative projects?
Our attempts at quiet weekend nights-in usually end up exactly the opposite. But who can complain when they involve good times with friends, right? The tricky part is to balance spending time with people you love AND making time to do things you love. I worked on a new client project, collected inspiration for our master suite makeover, ordered a beautiful lamp from here, cooked up a scrumptious meal with hubby, and the weather was perfect for outdoor entertaining. I was also able to squeeze in time for a much-needed long and luxurious bubble-bath, using my fav bath balls and scrubs from sabonnyc.com. Arent bubble-baths wonderful? I really should make more time to be good to my skin.
I certainly feel recharged for a new {and super busy} work week. What I am most looking forward to this week is the Green Day concert on Wednesday, with plenty of tailgating action before the show. Also, the latest issues of Lonny {aug 10} and Sweet Paul {aug 15} magazines are out this week! And I have another Mochatini giveaway coming up. I am going to try and finish a photo shoot for a client, find out if my bone has healed enough to allow horse riding, plan a romantic picnic, catch up with friends and hopefully visit a flower market. Et vous?

We are back from a nice vacation in St thomas. Soaked in lots of sunshine, went sailing and snorkeling and enjoyed picturesque views. Pics will be up soon. How was your week? My collarbone is healing nicely, still very painful but at least life is somewhat back to normal. Expect regular posts next week.
