I created this simple plum and silver + white tablescape using some left over fabric and fresh flowers. The fabric for the runner is by Marimekko, plates, bowls and vases from Crate and Barrel. The silver salt dishes and bird salt and pepper shakers are a flea market find.

I like to be all cozy when watching movies or relaxing with a book on the couch.  I needed a new throw and this soft and stylish throw by cindy crawford style is a nice addition to the living room. And perfect for cooler weather.

Cindy Crawford and JC Penny kick started the NY Fashion Week on wednesday 9.9.9 with the launch of Cindy’s new home line. I barely made it to the party but was so glad I did. The launch was at the soho house rooftop and it was a perfect breezy evening. Her collection was part of the decor complete with lamps, throws pillows reflecting updated traditional designs. Looking spectacular as always, Cindy says “dress your home like you would yourself…”.

Rarely do floral fabrics do it for me. I love flowers and have tiny arrangements all over my home, but most floral patterns tend to be a tad too feminine for my decor style. That is until I came across fabrics by Camilla David Textiles.

Owner, Camilla David and her lovely fabrics were introduced to me by my friend and textile designer Nandini. {Nandini is part of Camilla’s design team}. Camilla’s fabrics reflect her charming personality and her great eye for detail. I was instantly drawn to each of their designs. Her fabrics include embroidered, hand-screened and crewelwork patterns that have a mix of vintage and contemporary feel to them. The designs are soft yet sophisticated, chic and yet cheerful. Inspiration for Camillas’s designs comes from growing up in a house full of gorgeous arrangements of tulips, peonies and roses. She is also a member of two garden clubs and loves to decorate her home with lovely arrangements.

Camilla was generous enough to let me borrow her fabric swatches for a few days and I have to say it was hard to give her binder back. I had so much fun imagining how fabulous they would look in my home. Each sequence of designs is perfect for upholstering, cushions or drapes. Now all I have to do is score a set of Louis XV chairs to re-upholster using Camilla’s fabrics. ;-)

In Washington, DC you can find them at the J. Lambeth showroom in Washington Design Center, and at the D&D building in New York. The fabrics are also available in select cities around the US, and you get the list of locations here. I will be featuring some more of her designs soon, so until then take a look at their website.

Wow! Just came across this DIY by Krissy from Earth Cadets on Kelly + Olive. Krissy makes painting your own fabric look easy and super fun. What better way to personalize and customize to you decor? Her tutorial shows you step by step how you can make your own framed artwork or placemats using scrap cloth or canvas. Rescue and reuse those old tees. I should try painting my own table runners.
