Summer Beer Tasting Party

This summer there seem to be more shandy’s, specialty pilsners, and craft IPA’s than ever before. What better reason, to fire up the grill and have friends bring their old favorites and new discoveries over for a beer tasting party.

4 summer parties you need to host

Loving these FAB ideas/colors for Summer entertaining.

The fresh and yet understated color palette of this tablescape creates an impression of an simple elegance, offset by the rustic and sprigs of rosemary, and by the warm tones of organic white peach tarts and homemade whipped cream. LOVE the table cover!

Contrasted tones of yellow and aqua, accented with subtle Navajo touches of wildflowers and an understated  feather build a color concept that feels both festive and unexpected.

Strong and yet not over-dominant, cobalt blues and crisp whites stand the test of an outdoor environment already brimming with color. Give it a handmade touch by dyeing your own table linen and pillow covers.

For lavish summery decor, manifest elegance with less established colors and shapes. Bold, feminine blossoms offset angular, tapered candles; pale yellows and earthy oranges allow rich shades of emerald and teal to appear at the forefront. Graphic tablecloth, emerald, and dont even get me started on that chandy, this is MY kind of dinner party! Recreate a similar table cover using lighter-weight canvas fabric and food/natural dyes.

Happy Halloween and Birthday Weekend

Do you love or loathe Halloween? Are you dressing up? I am not but I do have a fun outfit for Dexter. If any of you are looking for last-min Halloween party decor ideas, check out this monochromatic bash that I created for Bright Bazaar. I used old record as chargers. For the centerpiece I spray painted pumpkins, artichokes and fabric hydrangeas in a flat black finish.

Thanks for your visits this week. Have a great weekend.

Mochatini + AphroChic + Matchbook Mag = When work is a fun rooftop soiree

Friends! I have some lovely news to share with you. My styling work is in the latest issue of Matchbook Magazine. Pgs 80-88.

You know how much I absolutely enjoy creating tablescapes. So when one of my favorite designer/blogger Jeanine Hays, invited me to style a summer party on her rooftop in Philly, I was beyond thrilled. I mean, I love this gal. She’s talented, kind, one of the most genuine bloggers, a successful entrepreneur, a lovely person….and I simply adore her.. Needless to say I was in like wine in sangria. The thought of working alongside a friend, had me doing cartwheels and making virtual moodboards at the same time…

Would you like to see how our wonderfully collaborated project turned out?

We had SUCH a lovely time. I absolutely love when collaborations like this when everything works so well together. Like magic.  We transformed her outdoor space into an extension of their home by creating a warm and stylish entertaining space. We softened the urban rooftop by playing with a forest green and candy yellow color palette. Moss balls and ornamental oregano added visual interest.

Huge thank you to Jeanine Hays and her husband, AphroChic team, Jane from Matchbook and Rachel and my wonderful hubby. Pleasure working with you all.

Also thanks to Steuben for stemware, Little Bit Heart for lovely invites, menu and placecards, Rosanna for botanical plates, Michael Aram for salt+pepper shakers, Macaron Cafe for macarons as favors. Flatware is by Dvf and polka dot bread plates by Kate Spade.
